2010 Tryout Information
Purpose: The tryout process is used to evaluate a player’s readiness for competition at the travel level and determine placement within the travel age group. Each tryout is an “open tryout”, where players are evaluated on their technical, tactical, physical, and mental soccer abilities.

Format: Each age group will hold two tryout dates. The first day is focused on individual skills, 1v1 ability, and small-sided games. The second day focuses on tactical ability in small-sided and full-sided games.
Goalkeeper Tryouts: At the first tryout dates (April 20 and 21), a professional goalkeeper evaluator will be on hand to run the goalkeeper evaluation. Goalkeepers trying out from the four age groups will participate in the age group technical field player assessment before departing for the goalkeeper focused portion of the tryout. Goalkeepers will then return to their age group for the entire second tryout.
Communication of Results-Once the tryouts have been completed, those players trying out for a U11-U14 Boys or Girls team will be contacted of their status NO LATER than May 24, 2010. U8-U10 tryout participants will be contacted NO LATER than June 7, 2010. If you are not contacted by these dates please contact Anson Smith, GFSC Director of Development at soccersmith@live.com.
