What is GFSC Micro Soccer?
Micro soccer is the GFSC league designed for K, 1st, and 2nd graders interested in soccer.
Teams consist of 6-10 players. All practices/games occur on Saturday mornings
at Barley Sheaf school. Each session starts with 45 minutes of fun games and drills
designed to build the basic skills the children need to develop to become good soccer
players. This is followed by a 45 minute small side game versis one of the other teams
in the division. The small sided game is either 4 v 4 or 5 v 5 without goalies.
What your Child Needs?
GFSC provides all the general equipment including fields, balls, cones and goals. Each child
is also provided with a team shirt on the first day of the season. Your child must wear shin
guards underneath a pair of soccer or high tube socks. We recommend that all children
wear soccer cleats although they are not required. Absolutely no baseball cleats are
allowed.
Soccer Cleats vs Baseball Cleats
Soccer cleats do not have a cleat on the front toe of the cleat. This is important in
that if a child raises their foot to kick a ball, there is no front toe cleat that might
hurt another child.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR CHILD'S CLEATS!!!
