A recent addition to New Jersey law states that children who wear corrective eyeglasses while participating in organized sports wear protective eyewear that meets the frames standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and lens standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The requirements of the American Society for Testing and Materials Standard F803. The eyewear will be stamped "F803"  on it.

The above is for your information only when purchasing safety glasses.  If you do not purchase the above standard, children can play with any glasses if the referee, in his sole discretion, deems them "safe".  In the end, it is in the referee's discretion that rules.
