PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR, IT'S THE LAW

A recent addition to New Jersey law requires children who wear corrective eyeglasses while participating in organized soccer or other sports to wear protective eyewear that meets the frames standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and lens standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Indeed, referees can refuse to allow children to participate if their glasses do not conform to the State Law requiring protective eyewear.
