ACL injuries can be one of the most devastating events for an athlete, both physically and mentally. There are an estimated 80,000-125,000 ACL injuries every year, costing Americans $646,000,000 annually or $17,000 per injury. Alarmingly 70% of all these injuries are non-contact. Having a proper training program, including warm-up, stretching, mobility, agility and strengthening, can be the most important factor in preventing season ending ACL injuries. This clinic will address the most vital parts of a warm-up program, and how to recognize some of the warning signs that your athletes may not be moving or stopping the correct way.
Paul Kolody, MS, ATC, CSCS will be leading the clinic. Paul is a Certified Athletic Trainer, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, with 18 years experience in the sports medicine field. He currently works with athletes at the high school, college and professional levels, including the Somerset Patriots Baseball club. His programs focus on mobility, stability and flexibility training, agility, acceleration strength and power development.
