Complex Update on 6/11/10
On June 10, 2010, Manny Wolf officially became our newest and most "seasoned" member of our GFSC family when President Gary Hazard honored him and his wife, Ruth, for their generosity and support of our new complex. The Wolf family has resided in Hunterdon County since 1944 and they are great neighbors to our new soccer facility, which Manny visits regularly. Below, is a picture of Manny receiving our offical Club jersey from Gary with Ruth looking on.
About our fields ,,, After the Raritan Township Committee Members, the Administration, and Public Works Department attended the ground breaking in mid-October 2009, the project has been going very strong ever since. Construction has been completed on Field #1 and Field #2 is well under way; parking lot is in; the pavillion is built; and the 2-car storage shed and watering sytem is up and operational.
"Stop by and take a look! Pull into the driveway. It’s GFSC’s property!" said Gary Hazard, GFSC President, in an open invitation to the thousand plus families that make up our Club. The property is located at the corner of Old York and Clover Hill Roads in Raritan Township.

That is how the GFSC Board described our merger with the Hunterdon Soccer Club for players over the age of 19. HSC was the adult club in the area that provided soccer players a venue when they were too old for affiliation with the various youth soccer leagues under the New Jersey Youth Soccer Association. "In theory, now you can start with GFSC at age 5 in recreation, and go to age 65 - and beyond with our Adult Division," said Gary Hazard, President of GFSC.
The Merger now creates GFSC soccer divisions for recreation teams ages 5-18; Small Sided Travel ages 8-10; and, Full Sided Travel ages 11-18; and adult ages 19 to as long as you can stand up and kick. The groups are generally over ages 20, 30 , 40 , and 48 years young.

In the excitement of a game, sometimes we lose sight of why our children participate in sports in the first place: to be with friends and develop in body, mind, and spirit. We see young referees become discouraged and quit when parents or coaches yell at them. We see confusion when children are directed from the parent-side of the field in spite of able coaching from the other side.

Important Notice Regarding Parking at Lenape Park Fields
Please note and tell your opponents that parking along the curb is prohibited at Lenape Park. We have been advised that the Raritan Township Police Department will ticket cars and have them towed if parked along the curb. Please arrive early and try to car-pool when possible.
